There is no green tea that is close to being celebrated, like the one that comes from Japan. This beginning of the year we managed to negotiate a ceremonial Japanese tea, which celebrates everything that this country praises with the word MATCHA.
Part of our vision for the future is to buy goods with a sustainable approach, which helps reduce the impact of our products on the environment, on the health of those involved, and improves social conditions. For more than 5 years we have been buying from producers who care about the issue of sustainability, both in El Salvador and in different parts of the world. This allows you to enjoy the wonders that nature offers, aware that it is a product that cares for the environment, reduces pollution, protects natural resources and helps create jobs with a green mentality.
This matcha grows on a farm with Rainforest Alliance Certification, where the priority is to take care of the forest, improve the lives of producers and their communities, promoting their rights in order to mitigate the climate crisis. Additionally, it bears the Fair Trade insignia, a mark that symbolizes a product that complies with international environmental, social and economic standards of ethical production.
Our new Matcha is harvested on the IZU Peninsula, west of Tokyo in a mountainous area, now part of Shizuoka Prefecture. It is a Gyokuro, one of the highest quality grades of green tea in Japan, with a high content of umami flavor, always coming from Camellia Sinensis. This Japanese matcha is harvested from spring leaves that have been shaded for several weeks, drastically reducing sunlight to increase chlorophyll content, which in turn turns the leaves a dark green color, which in turn contributes to its vibrant color.
