BOOK A COMPETITION PROGRAM
COFFEE COMPETITIONS
The Competition Programs at Academia Barista Pro start from 10 full days and have a different theme than our normal courses. Although it is not essential, for such training, we recommend that the Student completes a coffee program prior and / or has a minimum 1 year experience working as a professional Barista in a Coffee Shop.
Inexperienced students could opt for these trainings too, however, the rules indicate that they must have a minimum of experience to participate. Each country has its own regulation for this rule, we suggest consulting with your local organizers.
We have trained Baristas for Competition since 2008. Competition trainings are exclusively conducted by both the Founders of Academia Barista Pro, Jonathan Rodríguez and Johanna de Rodríguez.
These trainings result in unique learning experiences that will make Students develop their skills, fulfilling the desired objectives according to each Competition Event.
Brewers Cup or Barista Coffee Competition Trainings will aim to improve flavors of all your beverages. Students will be able to interpret the regulations with ease, they will get to know in depth their equipment and use it to its full potential. Each competition is prepared exclusively for the client, no competition is the same as the other. We promise to prepare you to captivate National and International Judges with creative, well prepared presentations, original drinks made to comply with your coffees natural flavors.
These are the most intensive Barista Programs that Academia Barista Pro has. Each training is priced differently, according to the needs of each client and training days. All students must be aware Academia Barista Pro does not rent, loan or sell equipment. Students are responsible to get their own equipment and invest in their competition performance apart from any Trainer Honoraries.
Each training is also scheduled is reserved special for the student on our calendar. This is why we require 25% upfront payment of Honoraries Quoted paid in advanced. If students are international, they must pay this over Credit Cart Online Payment. Reservation for any Competition Training with Academia Barista Pro founders is done with 3 months in advance.
Academia Barista Pro cannot guarantee the results of the competitions, however these trainings result in great learning experiences for students and may be the pathway towards excellence in World of Coffee.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION IN HARBIN, CHINA - 2014
We had the opportunity to be invited to participate in the Prestigious GBCC International Competition in Harbin, China 2014. One of the requirements was to have won a finalist place in the country's National Competition.
For this Competition we sent 2 Students with the purpose that they will represent both the Academy and their country. We invited Lourdes Flores from Honduras and Victor Flores from El Salvador. Together, they traveled for more than 20 hours until they reached Harbin, China in December 2014, one of the coldest times in that country. There were days when they raced in temperatures of -16 C, yet it was a wonderful experience that none will forget.
In GBCC, Victor achieved 3rd Place and positively impacted both the judges and other participants, so several recorded the testimonies below, about Victor, his Competition and the El Salvador Coffee.

We are very grateful to the organizers of the Competition, who this time invite us again to represent El Salvador and Academia Barista Pro. This time, we had 2 Students who met the requirement, so we held 2 Internal competitions.
For these Internal Competitions we went to National Judges Students, who helped us to qualify each contestant and with their experience, to be able to send the best representative. The Students who participated as judges, have several years of experience in Competition and the majority have completed complete Barista, Cupping and Brewing programs at the Barista Pro Academy, so they have a broader criterion to qualify the contestants.
On this occasion, Victor Flores won the trip to represent the Academy and El Salvador again in the GBCC Competition in Harbin China.
Victor is one of the 2 remaining Latin American participants in the Finalist Round. In this competition, Baristas with extensive experience in the subject of Latte Art attended, including 3 World Champions in this discipline.
